The Emperor used to walk this path to perform his praying for a good harvest.
The center stone is where the Emperor would stand to pray to the Heavens for a good harvest. I doubt he held an umbrella!!
These containers would hold the sacrificial animals after they were burned at the brick oven in the back of the picture.

Wow that looks like a huge Big Mac! Do you think that the infamous Hamburgler is going to come by to scarf it down? or is he too busy being a goon in West Lafayette? or is he waiting for the temporary olympic time ban on serving dog in China's restaurants to end in mid-September? so he can have a Dog Mac in the Temple of Heaven.
Looks like things are clearing up...pollution-wise. Nothing too exciting going on State-side except tomorrow is the 1700th day since Ohio State last lost to Michigan in football.
